History and education

Dr. Chacon is a first-generation Mexican American born in Tuscon, Arizona. His parents were from Sonora, Mexico, immigrants from little communities. Dr. Chacon has lived in California for around 20 years.

While living in Arizona, he received a Bachelor of Science in Physiological Science from the University of Arizona. Three years later, he enrolled at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.).

He briefly studied neurodegenerative illnesses at the Università Degli Studi di Firenze in Florence, Italy, in 2005. He became a resident in the department of general surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, in 2005. In 2008, he shifted his specialty to the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and remained a resident at the University of California, San Francisco. In 2010, he was designated Chief Resident of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

As a resident, he earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management (MBA). After completing his residency, he was given a 12-month Fellowship at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). As a USC Fellow, he obtained additional training in aesthetic plastic surgery, revision surgery, breast surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. He was also in charge of operating laser equipment and developing non-surgical treatments during his fellowship.
 

Work Experience and History

As a student, Dr. Chacon worked as a manager for Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceuticals in the Arizona Cancer Center. Because of his 18 years of sales and consulting expertise, he had a far better understanding of clients.

Throughout his FellowshipFellowship, he continued to teach cosmetic surgery as a clinical instructor at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. Patients he treated included the obese contestants on the ABC show Extreme Makeover: Weight Reduction Edition, who experienced significant weight loss and frequently decided to have plastic surgery to remove excess skin at the conclusion.

Dr. Carlos Chacon not only founded Divino Plastic Surgery, but he also became the Medical Director of Spa Divino in 2012. The spa in Bonita, California, provides various services to assist customers in relaxing and improving their looks.
